Saturday, May 24, 2008 Toyota Challenge Night Before the 500 USAC Midget Series Optional Tour Time: 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm Already revved up for tomorrow’s events? Fine tune your excitement with the “Night before the 500” race. The Night before the 500 serves as something of an unofficial preliminary event to the Indianapolis 500. It is the first challenge of three in the third annual “Toyota Challenge” of the USAC midget series. 2008 will be the 63rd year for the “Night before the 500” race. The Indianapolis Raceway Park now known as the O’Reilly Raceway Park will be the host of all three Toyota “Challenges”; The “Night before the 500”, the “Toyota Racing Classic” and the “Toyota Challenge Showdown”. These three events fall on the same weekends as the Indianapolis 500, the Allstate 400 with the Challenge showdown being in September at the inaugural MotoGP at Indianapolis. The Toyota Challenge event is one of three major USAC initiatives implemented by Toyota. This year will mark the first time that any one track has played host to all three Toyota Challenge events. “Many racing legends got their start by racing in USAC, particularly in the midget series, and with this year’s Toyota Challenge schedule, the competitors know the eyes of the racing world are upon them and they will be on the top of their game.” said Ron Anderson, O’Reilly Raceway Park General Manager. Keith Kunz Motorsports has won the Toyota Challenge in each of the event’s first two seasons. Last year’s Toyota Challenge was determined by a last-lap crash and more intense racing is expected again in 2008.
